1999. Only months away from 2000 and yet our society still has so many
problems. After 2000 years, don’t you think they would go away? Racial hatred
is still a problem in 1999. However, people are starting to deal with it, through
music. Bands like the Pilfers, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake, and
various others have elevated themselves above the hatred. Organizations like
Ska Against Racism, and the ARA have added their 2 cents. Songs like “Nazi
Punks Fuck Off”, “Generation”, and “Let’s Face It” all deal with the fact that
racism is stupid and doesn’t make sense. I think it’s great that bands are starting
to realize that fans listen to what the artist have to say. They take their songs
more seriously, as to writing 200 songs about TV’s, girlfriends, and other random
stuff. I support all theese bands above, as well as other bands/artists like: Jello
Biafra, Business, Templars, Rancid, Operation Ivy, and more.
